Twente is a region in the east of the Netherlands, in the province of Overijssel. Eight cities fall within this region: Almelo, Delden, Diepenheim, Rijssen, Goor, Oldenzaal, Ootmarsum and Enschede. Oldenzaal used to be the largest and most important city in Twente. Twente is known for its nature reserves, but the eight cities also have a rich amount of history, and thus, culture. Twente has several nature reserves in its region, including smaller ones such as the Lutterzand (at the Dinkel) and larger ones, such as the National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug. The combination of nature and culture make Twente a great region for sustainable (teambuilding) activities, workshops and tours!
